. >>> the white house is getting ready for its big debt ceiling summit later today. this morning we are leshing what both sides will be bringing to the bargaining table. good morning, i'm eun yang. >> good morning, i'm joe krebs. it's thursday, the 7th day of july, take a look outside this morning. humid already. 73 degrees. at 6:00. tom is here for a look at our forecast for today. another summer day. >> we've had some fog quickly forming here over the last few minutes, and it's rather thick. in fact there's the view from the tower camera 300 feet up. i just went out and looked at the tower and the top of the tower disappears into the fog. that's the view from 300 feet elevation of the tower from our sky watcher camera, trying to find the sun. it is up now. there's a clear sky over the fog. and we have temperatures in the low and mid 70s flout much of the region. right now, 74 at reagan national. and you can see that light fog and haze over the potomac river. now, we ought to have some sunshine. by midmorning and the fog should be pretty much gone and we'll be near 80 midmorning. and near 90 b

of 1995. if you remember, that, now all this high heat sliding to the east, over to the big cities. for boston, new york city, philadelphia, now three days that it's here. check for current conditions. 81 degrees. prince george's county, your temperature currently, your heat index, right now is at 80 degrees. tyson's corner in fairfax, you're feeling like 75. and montgomery county, heat index at 82 degrees. your day planner forecast, the air temperature will get up to 100 degrees this afternoon. by around 1:00. already by noontime we'll be up to 95 degrees. hazy skies. poor air quality also a factor for today. then we don't get much of a cool-off tonight, because by 9:00, it will still be up around 90 degrees. eun, aaron? >> 9:00 still 90 degrees. >> thanks a lot. >> this morning part of georgia avenue is still closed from a massive water main break. water crews are trying to fix a 16-inch main that broke yesterday morning. 4 million gallons of water spilled into the streets and damaged nearby homes. >> southbound georgia avenue is closed between randolph road and henderson avenue.

stallworth. >> the big news has been the trade of donovan mcnabb. the skins made it official yesterday. they dealt their former quarterback to the minnesota vikings for a sixth-round pick in next year's draft. they could get another pick in the future, based on mcnabb's performance in the coming season. >>> head coach mike shanahan is already at redskins park this morning and the players should be arriving within the next few hours. >> and news4's elaine reyes is out in ashburn with more, good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you, joe and eun, coach shanahan arrived around 5:30 this morning and right now we're seeing mostly coaches and support staff arrive. players will start to trickle in in just a little bit. you mentioned some new faces. we're also expected to see some old faces as well. albert haynesworth is still on the roster. and he is expected to report to training camp later today. practice doesn't open for fans until saturday. there are 11 open practices for fans between saturday and august 15th. the scheduled start, about 8:30 in the morning and will last about two hour

of the other spots where you can jump on the parkway. it's been a big inconvenience for folks. keep in mind, though, this is a very small window of time they're going to do this. from 7:00 a.m. until 9:15, that's when they're going to reopen the southbound lanes of cathedral. after 9:15, they're going to close it back down and run the traffic the rest of the day just in the northbound direction. so basically, they're providing you some relief but only during the morning rush hour. hopefully, that's going to help a lot of folks out. they're going to get on southbound rock creek parkway. you're going to have to get at it. 9:15 is when they're going to turn it around and make it northbound again. it's been a tough go for folks in this area. not a lost places to jump on the parkway. hopefully, this is going to help people out. eun, back to you. >> megan mcgrath. megan, thank you. >>> elderly drivers are often teased for driving too slowly, but a new study out this morning shows your kids may be safer riding with their grandparents than they are with you. the study looked at car crash claims in
